About Me
Hey there 👋 I’m Mateen.
I’m a software engineer who loves working with data storage, distributed systems, and the Go programming language. Most of the time, I’m either trying to make systems faster, more reliable, or just a little bit more fun to use.
Right now, I’m part of the Abramad team at System Group. In the past, I’ve built things like real-time logging systems, encrypted chat services and some more. always learning something new along the way.
When I’m not working, I like to tinker on side projects. My favorite one is Memorabilia, an in-memory storage project I’ve been slowly shaping into a key–value database. It’s my little playground for experimenting with concurrency, performance tuning, and design ideas.
Note: I avoid using generative AI to write my blogposts. I believe generative AIs can be good in certain fields and aspects of our life and can help us be more productive. Yet, using gen AI for writing blogposts beats the whole purpose in my humble opinion. I love the internet I grew up with. A place where humans connect and interact with each other.
Let’s Connect
I’d love to hear from you — whether it’s about tech, projects, or just grabbing a coffee:
A Few Things I Enjoy Outside Technical Matters
- 🎮 Gaming and trophy/platinum hunting
- 🚶♂️ Walking, my favorite physical activity, especially with good company.
- 🏋️♂️ Recently trying to stay consistent with my gym, and I’m starting to really enjoy it.
- 📚 Books (when I can find the time! [A LONG RANT ABOUT MANY INTERESTS AND LITTLE TIME])
Thanks for stopping by. If you’re into Go, systems, or databases, we’ll probably have a lot to talk about 🚀
